A & R provided a 90 day parts and labor warranty with the installation of a replacement engine in my 1991 Mitsubishi Montero. The engine broke down two months after it was installed. The vehicle was taken back to A & R, but they refused to honor the warranty. The Bureau of Automotive Repair conducted an investigation and cited A & R for numerous violations. The BAR also noted that A & R should refund the money I had paid them.
I later took my vehicle to GVW auto repair of Winnetka to inspect the work done by A & R. GVW concluded that it was one of the most shoddy installations they had ever seen. GVW even noted that some of the bolts that connect to the engine and transmission were left falling out. I also later learned that some of the parts A & R claimed to have changed such as belts were never replaced.
The employees are both rude and unprofessional (Jack and Junior Martinez). They don't honor warranties, renege on commitments, and lack basic communication skills. As I stated earlier, A & R has been investigated by the Bureau of Automotive Repair (CP 200917521) and cited for numerous violations. They have also been sued in small claims court for failing to honor their own warranties. Consumers beware! Stay away from A & R of Sun Valley California.
