Completely scammed 3/6/2013
|
We stopped in telling them we "just bought the car and don't have money want to know why it is not shifting right"(that was written on estimate paper #003505). A man took it on a test drive (he didn't speak english).
Then they put if on a hoist and with out asking took off the pan and let the transmission fluid out. Andrea sat us down and told us for $325 she would inspect to see what repairs it needed adding cost of additional parts for repair to it. We told her we didn't want to do that because didn't have money. She tried in all kinds of ways ( finance ' pay later, transmission could fail anytime, drive us home, etc.) to convince us.
She finally accepted we didn't want that. What about the fluid she draind without asking. $129 to put it back with additive. Pressing fact draining it was not authorized she said she would take $60 CASH. What choice did we have? We didn't have the cash, but she had a convient ATM machine in her office. We withdrew the cash, she put it in her pocket. Fluid was put in and we were told it had an "additive".
We drove car home, but next morning would not go in any gear. Friend suggested call AAMCO. They towed it to shop.. The Transmission was leaking out of gasket (it wasn't leaking when we brought it to AA Economy Transmission} and wouldn't shift because fliud was so low.. Nothing was wrong with transmission, but what we thought was not shifting right was bad univesal and bearing.
Appears if Andrea would have had her way, we would have paid to repair a perfectly good transmission and still have bad bearings and universal.
I drives fine now.
