Steer Clear of Auto Gallery

I had been realing with Joe O at Auto Gallery in Corona. I was very clear and up front that I was only looking to spend a certian amoutn on a vehicle and that it was going to take a little time as I was taking it out af a retirement account.. He was very friendly and seemd to be honest at the frist. I test drove the vehcile that I was interested in and told him again how much I had to spend.. I offered to put a deposit or retainer or hold on it, but he told me not to worry, when I had the cash to come see him and he would take care of it.
I got my check and had it in the bank waiting for it to clear.. but had seconds thoughts about the vehicle, so I made an apointment to go back and test it again , but on the freeeway this time, with a sales manager. After that drive I was happy and reaffiremd my intention to return with cash to purchase that make and model of vehicle.
I called a few days later and told Joe O that I would have the money in about 5 days and would be in, and asked him to see what it would cost for an extended warranty. I waited a weekwith no return call. I called to speak to a sales manager to confirm that if he indeed was not in that day, that the offer would be honored.. I was told that a manager was not avialable and that the offer was no good.. I was very upset, so I took a day to calm down and called back the next day. I spoke to the Fianace Manger who was rude, told me that the price could never be quoted by a sales man and that there was nothing she could do.. When I tried to explain my side of the story, she hung up on me. I did go to the lot and indeed did speak with her, where she informend me that basically I was wrong, I miss understood everything.
When I it was obvious that there was no geting through to her, I was upset. I told her to look into the idea of verbal contracts and she told me "I am Auto Gallery and altought I am new to this and do not know much, I appreciate any information I pick up along the way."
WOW.. what an admission..
