This place is horrible and reprehensible; I can't believe they haven't been shut down by the better business bureau. They told me TWICE that they couldn't wash my car because it was TOO DIRTY - unless I paid them substantially more! Isn't that what a car wash is for? I hadn't driven it through a mud storm - it was just in need of a regular car wash; I get it done every week.
I really sunk my heels in and yelled at them about this since on the previous visit - they tried to screw me over the price of the wash! I showed the $7.99 coupon I had to the attendant who said, "Okay" but when I went to sign my credit card receipt after it was printed out at the cash register - it was for $10.99! I could tell that the cashier KNEW what she was doing because she quickly refunded the difference without saying a word but while under the watchful glare of the owner. These people are the most unscrupulous bunch I've ever dealt with and the only reason I put up when them is because the people who actually clean the cars after they make it through the wash cycle - are amazingly good at what they do - and those people HATE their jobs because they say the owner doesn't pay them on time! What's with this place???
Once, I arrived for a wash to hear another female patron digging her heels in and admonishing the car attendants up front. Apparently, the man tried to charge her EXTRA because she had car mats in her car! HUH? Honestly - I couldn't believe the conversation I overheard and she was LIVID with them over this. In broken English the car attendant guy said, "You have dirty mats; they take time to dry - we charge extra." This customer didn't ASK for the mats to be taken out and cleaned separately - this man was referring to the usual, customary "car wash" charge as being extra since her MATS were dirty!
One time - these idiots even locked a customers keys in his car and were irritated that he didn't have a spare key on his person! They said to this man, "What are we supposed to do about your car, then?" I'd have clobbered them and made them call Triple A and foot the bill themselves for getting my car open again. On and on it just goes...the main "culprit" of all this trouble is an elderly, little bald guy who operates the front drive through area and writes the tickets for customers. He's the one I take issue with an I believe he's the owner. When I told him I was going to post a negative review on line after my most recent experience there, ("Your car's too dirty to clean unless we charge you extra") he said, "Why you do that?? You cause me trouble for no reason - get out of here!" and shooed me away with his hand as if I was an easily dismissive irritant.
Stay away from this place - I went down the street to another car wash and not a word was spoken about my car being "too dirty" to be cleaned! Don't give these idiots the opportunity to illegally separate you from your money. Also, those excellent cleaning people in the back bay area need to find another car wash to work at - one that appreciates and rewards all their hard labor.
